EASY HANGING

GROSSGLOCKNER

The Grossglockner is the highest mountain in Austria and one of the most impressive landmarks in the entire Austrian Alps. It rises to a height of 3,798 meters above sea level and attracts visitors with its majestic beauty, glacial landscape and unique views. 

This iconic mountain is located in the Hohe Tauern mountain range and is part of the National Park Hohe Tauern, which is the largest protected area in the Alps. The area offers not only dramatic mountain scenery, but also a rich fauna and flora, including chamois, marmots and rare plant species. 

The Grossglockner is a popular destination for climbers and tourists. The first successful ascent to the mountain peak was made in 1800. The climb is one of the more demanding Alpine hikes and requires experience with moving on a glacier. For less experienced visitors, the famous Grossglockner Hochalpenstraße is ideal, offering breathtaking panoramas and access to many viewpoints, including the famous Pasterze glacier.
