MESSENGER OF TODAY'S TIMES
The series Messengers of Our Time was created in 2024 by Klaudia Švrčková and Benedikt Heczek under their artistic label Bendie. The series draws attention to current issues affecting our society and the world through the symbolism of angels. Each painting in this collection depicts an angel in different scenes, where he encounters various crises, ecological disasters, social and mental problems.
Angels act not only as observers, but also as guides, inviting us to reflect on our actions and their impact not only on ourselves, but also on the world around us. This series invites reflection and responsibility for our future.
EVIL HAND
The series The Evil Hand was created in 2025 and works with the recurring symbol of the green hand as the embodiment of evil. This element enters individual scenes inconspicuously but persistently. The green hand intervenes in the events, disrupts the balance and harms the angels. The angels here do not appear as untouchable beings, but as fragile figures of good exposed to external pressure. The series focuses on the idea that evil does not have to be ostentatious or violent, it does not attack openly, does not scream or destroy immediately. It manifests itself in small interventions, diversion of attention, disruption of concentration or a subtle shift in meaning.
It is in this inconspicuousness that the power of the green hand lies – evil can appear as part of the environment, as something obvious or overlooked. It enters the space where good takes place and subtly weakens it from the inside and outside. The series thus points to the fragility of good and the fact that the greatest threat may not be open conflict, but the silent acceptance of minor disruption.
