The angel, who should be a symbol of freedom and goodness, is bound and manipulated by a dark force - the hand of evil, which forces him to act against his nature and beliefs. The image symbolizes a reality where a person can be manipulated like a puppet. But it is often up to us to take life into our own hands, awaken our inner strength and start acting according to our own feelings and values, instead of letting ourselves be controlled by external influences.
